  Fuji-Xerox® 24/32/40 (Xerox® N24/32/40)

Info Tech Specs Products Tech Docs Engine Compatibility

Reference Info
In April 1997, Xerox® introduced the DocuCentre 220/230 digital copiers and the DocuPrint® N24/32 network printers, both with a new tabloid-format Fuji-Xerox® engine. A little over a year later, multiple OEMs were using the same Fuji-Xerox engine for products sold in both the US and world marketplaces. This expanding roster of leading OEMs emphasizes the growing importance of this engine to cartridge remanufacturers as it becomes the leading competitor to Hewlett-Packard's® departmental network printers and multifunctional digital copier offerings. The appeal of this engine to OEMs is easily seen: a wide speed range, multifunctional capability, tabloid (11" x 17") and A3 printing capabilities, a wide variety of input and output options, and the protection of customizing cartridges with "smartchip" technology.

This cartridge series offers multiple benefits to remanufacturers. Its all-in-one design, simple disassembly, Canon®-type development technology, and high OEM cartridge list pricing, approximately $290 in US market, make it an excellent profit opportunity.

In late 1997, SCC Imaging Labs initiated development efforts centered around the DocuPrint printers since the Xerox offerings constitute the majority of this engine's North American placements. Additional evaluations have also been conducted on a number of the other OEM brands of this cartridge. We have found that between cartridges there is a range of differences.
